i've heard that morphvox works well with Second Life, but i'm wondering is how good does it actually work? many voice converters i've tried in different games and whatnot have always had the problem of your original voice getting through, PLUS the converted one, making it sound rather odd.
if you have tried morphvox + sl, or have talked to someone who uses it, does it truly cancle out your own voice or not? personally, i cannot stand my own voice (i sound extremly nerdie), so if this truly morphs it without any original going through, i'll give it a shot.

I've heard it used. There is no "double voice" effect such as you describe.

The free version (which is all I tried) works pretty well if you don't try an extreme change of voice (like changing male to female or something). I can't remember how many or which voice packs come with the free version but when I played around with it, it sounded okay most of the time (according to other people). There were occasional glitches where it sounded odd but i don't know if that was Morphvox or SL voice problem. They also have some "fantasy" voices (like ogre or fairy, etc) but I didn't try those. I think the biggest drawback of the free version is you can't tweak any of the voices.
I'm sure the "pro" version is even better. No harm is trying the free version. I haven't looked lately but I think it's still available and still works with SL voice. Good luck.

i've heard it used before and you can still tell someone is using it..it just sounds like a weak connection or like they are far away or in a storm.. i heard a DJ using it one time trying to be female..i didn't say anything to anyone but you could tell hehehe

the far away thing is a common microphone glitch, or a bad microphone. as for the other thing, where you could tell is was a male voice, not female, are you sure he wasn't just using a poor morphing?

it wasn't a mic ..there is a distinct difference about it..it's hard to describe i guess but it's easy to tell..there are slight quirks at times in the voice also..we used to toy around with it back when i played wow when we would get bored in instances and try different voices..like gnome being gnome things that fit our avatars.. it's a fun program for goofing around with but a guy won't sound like a girl and a girl won't sound like a guy unless they are close to sounding like one already in their own voice hehehehe maybe slight changes if you don't like your voice but i don't think drastic ones work well with any of those programs..
