1 - the SL5B thing, do those sims have that 40 avatar limit thing? considering it's a major event by LL, i'd think not, but j/w if i'll get a "sim full" error if i try to visit it sometime.

2 - is there anyway to delete linked parts of a prim? if there was an ocject that was, say, 20 prims all linked as one item, but i wanted to deleet 15 or so of those prims to reduce lag on loading, would this be possible? the deleet button doesn't seem to work

1) There need to be limits, else the sim will become unusable. It may not be 40 though. If you get the message that the sim is full, just keep trying periodically.

2) If the item is modifiable, you should be able to unlink and delete the extraneous prims. Otherwise, no.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

its in the menus, or the keyboard command is ctrl shift L

also in the edit window you can use the "edit linked parts" to select the one prim you want to remove, unlink just that 1 prim and then delete it (vs unlinking the entire thing)

First, click "Edit Linked Parts" in the edit menu and click the parts you wish to unlink.

Second, go to tools (I think, haven't been on SL in a few days) and click "unlink".

I strongly recommend going to the Ivory Tower of Primitives to learn the basics of building.

And building questions go in the Building Tips forum.

To answer the specific question, go to Tools > Unlink (ctrl shift L)

To unlink (and delete) prims:

In the edit menu, check the box next to Edit Linked Prims. Click on the prims you want to unlink, holding down Shift if you need to select more than one. (You may have to click off the object onto something else first.)

Choose Unlink Prims in the Tool menu OR Ctrl-Shift-L on the keyboard. You can now right-click and delete the unlinked prims.

Note: If one of those prims is the root prim (highlighted in yellow when you edit the object) you won't be able to unlink it. In that case:

Select the object and go into edit mode. Unlink ALL the prims as above. Select and delete the ones you don't want. Select all the remaining prims and choose either Link Prims in the Tool menu OR Ctrl-L on the keyboard.

Note 2: In objects with scripts or animations, deleting the wrong prim, deleting the root prim, or relinking with the wrong prim as the root can break your object. Best make a copy first.

EDIT: Too slow! lol

Hope this helps!
