hi everyone. a while back there was a thread on how to do things . and one was how to view your camera. while standing and not moving u can hold the alt button and left click the mouse and rome around with out moving your av. my question is . this is restricted. u can only go so far. but there is a way to turn off that restriction, so u can run with the camera view as far as u like. does any one know how? :)

Client (or Advanced depending on your viewer) / check Disable Camera Constraints

(Ctrl-Alt-D to get the "debug" menu(s) if you don't see it/them :))

You'll notice when you do this that what gets drawn is only partially a function of cam location and draw distance, and largely a function of avatar location.

I have a related question.

Sometimes I want to get very close to something. Last night, I was helping a friend edit her prim eyelashes...and I couldn't close in past a certain point.

Other times, I can zoom right up to and even within an object.

What am I missing?

I was wondering that too.

Sometimes I zoom right into my own head and other times I can't get close enough to even see my earring properly.

Use the cam to get close to the earring and then View / Zoom In and Zoom Out (and Zoom Default to get back to normal) or Ctrl-0, Ctrl-8 and Ctrl-9 respectively.

(Zoom can badly warp the perspective so you'll want to go back to the default when you're done :))

When I need to adjust jewelry that comes placed inside my body, I alt-cam on something (the ground or a wall) past my body and then can move within to find the errant item.

I believe you can't zoom inside an object you've alt-cammed on itself iirc?
