OK so i owned 1024 on one spot and 3072 on another.
I bought the 1024 beside the 3072 for $1 of a friend and sold the other 1024 to them for $1 so I owned 5100 or whatever for like 10 secs and my monthly tier is $40
Is this correct and if so does it drop again next month. Sounds a bit harsh what should I do?

Since you went above 4096, even if only for 10 seconds, this is correct - for this one month. After that it will go down again.

From: TomBoyNI Hammerer Is this correct and if so does it drop again next month. Sounds a bit harsh what should I do? That's the way it works . It whould have shown you (on the Buy Land window) that you'd slip into the $40/month tier when you bought the second 1024m². If you held the land in your name, there's nothing you need to do, after the current billing period your tier will go down. If you bought the land for a group, you'll need to remove the extra tier from the group. The easiest way to check would be: https://secondlife.com/account/landfees.php and check "Square meters owned" and "Square meters donated".

From: TomBoyNI Hammerer ...so I owned 5100 or whatever for like 10 secs and my monthly tier is $40... ...wish I earned $40 every 10 seconds..now multiply this by the number of other people who also owned land for 10(ish) seconds and you get some idea of why you should be wishing you were the one who thought of creating a Utopian World(hah!!), on the internet. Sadly you are not the one..you..like me.. are the ones who are paying for it. Sorry..but I just paid my monthly tier..complete with VAT (now =$346.62)..and I'm a little depressed right now!! Perre

Ive been caught out by this one...owned land in one place and bought in another, not expecting my land to sell almost immediately. Had I known my land would have sold quickly I could have saved myself a lot of money. As it was I owned land in the next tier for a couple of hours and was charged as such.
I suppose asking for a few hours lee way here would be out of the question........

I'm the farthest thing from an expert - but I thought I had heard somewhere that in a case like this if you appeal to the Lindens they might cut you a break?

I have gone from a full sim to a rented 4096. From $205 + vat to $17. Am I smiling, you bet your ass !!
Tier fee's in SL are no longer worth the money, and the return on your investment is crap. I even downgraded my premium account as I am renting privately.
He he he !!

If it is a first time thing and they can see what happened they might be kind. When I had something like this happen i.e. my own fault (sorry, but it was your doing not theirs!) they sorted it out right away as a goodwill gesture.
