Ok, so here is the thing.
My name is Avian Admiral, I am 19 years old, unemployed, Spring 09 College Freshman, and I am having issues buying L$ using my Walmart Prepaid Visa.
I have a basic account (not Premium), registered my Visa Prepaid from Walmart in my Billing, and I waited one hour before trying to buy L$.
Well, here is the problem: SL keeps telling me they cannot bill my account. I would get Paypal, but they only recognize bank credit cards and bank accounts, and not Visa Prepaid. I even went and made a Google Checkout account, and as far as I know, Second Life doesn't support GC.
Is there anyway I will be able to buy L$ using my Visa Prepaid through any other method?

Is it the store card, or the one that came in the mail. Till you get the one in the mail all online transactions are refused. That one has to be activated before the walmart cards work online. It is the one from the mail, and I activated it. I just put money on it this Monday! |

Maybe try purchasing something with it first like a box of chocolates at the local store. See if it works at all.

Mine works fine as well, but it does cause problems with SL (and my old webhost provider, 1&1 sux). Basically, the first time you use it in SL, LL charges a $1 test charge then refunds it. But, Greendot (the company behind the cards) sees this as a potential fraud issue so it blocks it.
Easy fix, call the card customer service and tell them to allow charges from LL. They were quite friendly when I called them and fixed the problem immediately. I haven't had any trouble since. |

I use the same thing to buy lindens in game. I have not had any problems with my card however I know that some times there are problems with the cards. I have had mine for several months and have never had a problem but my brother every time he loads his he needs to call the company and activate it. Maybe that is the problem with yours as well.

did you signup for premium by chance? there is a limit to how much $ an av can move in the first weeks of SL, and the 9.95 premium cost does count against that 'billing limit'.
