checking out skins

Does anyone else click the little cross onto a av'i's face and zero in camera style to check out thier skin...or am i the only 'skin perve'....*eekk*!!! And LOL...can they tell I am looking at them?? *scared* pmsl

I often go into mouselook and look directly at somebody - I think face perving is quite common. Of course i live in a nudist colony so usually people are looking at other things...

(And no they can't tell unless they have a special browser I think)

Yes! Well you can tell that *someone* is looking at you with the show look at tool, and process of elimination works well enough to tell who lots of the time.

Oh yeah sorry i forgot...
Just select:

Tools > Are you looking at me?

I think avatars are meant to be looked at. Just like anything else created inworld. I always find myself fascinated by nose and jaw shapes. So, I'm usually zooming there. I'll cam-fu a whole sim over to see just about anything that interests me up close. (^_^)

Plus, everyone has their own personal touch of detail somewhere. Since I wear my own edit of a skin I picked up in PS files I get a certain feeling of pride when someone compliments me. (^_^)

Of course... There are those times when I get "OMG! ==8o your eye is scary!". It makes me happy to know that some random somebody is willing to look THAT closely to something I created and identify with. (^_^)y

ROFL! I am so glad you posted this ... now I don't feel quite so alone. ... and every time I think they might notice me looking, I scoot like a scared rabbit. Or, I say hello ... I haven't quite pinned down what makes me do one or the other. I will say im dedicated to the study of female skins, however. Make of *that* what you will.

There is a setting under advanced to show 'look at' which will tell you if someone has alt-clicked on you with their camera. The cross turns pink. It can be hard to tell who is looking at you if you are in a crowded sim. I like to click on a nearby object and then cam to a person. Sometimes my camera goes through their head and I get all eyeballs and teeth which can be disturbing.
