Just have some anecdotal evidence so far, so was hoping for a wider sampling of the RA "regulars". I, like many others, have had major issue with a borked friends list - usually " waiting)" and sometimes " hippos)" instead of my friends showing. I have been using the Windlight First Look and seeing the issue, but I guess it was elsewhere too. I recently went with the 1.19.1 RC and since I have, have not seen a single problem with it. Have they fixed it, or have I just got lucky? What are your observations, if you are using the current RC?

I, too, am using the 1.19.1 RC almost exclusively and I don't think I have had the (waiting)/(hippos) problem with it yet.
So... maybe???
Now if they would just fix the Friends Online web page...

Just what is that bloody hippos malarkey? I see it most days, assume it's some sort of screw-up, but why "hippos"?

In the RC, my friends are showing up correctly in game.

From: Max Herzog Just what is that bloody hippos malarkey? I see it most days, assume it's some sort of screw-up, but why "hippos"? The best reference I can find is at http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/Did_You_Know : From: someone The hippo is the un-official-official mascot of Second Life. In an epic forum thread started by Darwin Appleby, which was one of the longest surviving threads on the Second Life forums, the topic at hand was none other than the mighty beast that is the hippo. This theme was carried over into the grid with Hikaru Yamamoto's zoo in which a small hippo family could be fed by kind visitors. It then spurred a hippo invasion of avatars and statues all around Second Life which has yet to stop! It even seeped into the code that drives Second Life itself (Ctrl-Alt-Shift-H). Sometimes the word hippos appears in a menu item which has yet to refresh from the database. And http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=1727 is the above-referenced thread.

I read this on another forum post but am too lazy to find it - however it fixed the issue for me: - 1) Quit the SL viewer. 2) Delete the cache folder manually. 3) Start the SL viewer and login. 4) Once you get past the login progress screen and can see your avatar, quit the SL viewer again. 5) Start the SL viewer again and login. Note: Don't delete the cache folder again between steps 4 and 5.
