Suggestions for good areas in mainland to buy land?

I am a newcomer to SL. I am embarking on the search to buy a modest parcel of land, 512 to begin. I would like suggestions on what areas in the mainland I should target. There are many things out there, some of which do appeal to me, but I have little idea on what regions are optimal. I realize this is a very subjective request, however I would appreciate any and all input that any one is willing to provide.

Thanks in advance to you all.

BTW this forum is a wealth of information.

There is no one sim that is better than others but I suggest you look for areas with residential builds and no ad farms unless you are looking to build a club or something. Then take my advice in reverse.

Hi Lyle, I noticed that bunch of land just went up for sale in Vyacheslav. You might want to check it out.

In Maia is also land for sale.

There are some add farms, but you can easily and successfully cover those up.

If you enjoy the gang of regulars here, there are some plots for sale near the new in-world forum clubhouse...check out Allana and the surrounding sims

I have a 4096 plot in Trasimeno on Nautilus, and that's a pretty nice area. I think the land is priced just a little bit high for the current going rates, but so far the neighbors have all been nice, the view is pretty decent, and I haven't seen an adfarm yet, so the price isn't completely unjustified. There are still plots available around there, and who knows? You might get a better price if you ask. I bought 3-512's there just this week, and offered almost $L2000 less than their total price for all 3 of them. The seller came back with a counter offer and I bought them at a nice discount from their original price.
P.S. Thanks to everyone who advised me on a different thread to go ahead and negotiate a price. It worked out very well...and I'm supremely happy with the deal.
