Hi all,

Im trying to get through orientation island, but i dont see the normal HUD i remember from when i first did this, so have no instructions?

Anyone know what's going on there?

Click on the Inventory button to open your inventory (lower right corner of the screen) and where it says "Type here to search" (or something along those lines) type: guide

If you still have the HUD it should find something called "Orientation Guide v2.0" or something close to that. Right-click on that and pick the wear option and hopefully you're all set again

nothing under objects, or scripts or any other place you might think it could be...

thx though..

any other ways around this?

Yes, thanks Kitty!

I do have another issue unfortunately....

Try as i might, i cannot complete the move tutorial. I have one star out of 3, and i KNOW i am doing the flight one correctly (im not a new resident), but it will not register it.

I have tried deleting my personal files on this machine to 'reset' the hud, or whatever, but i just cant complete the OI!

Any suggestions?

"HUD"? You youngsters have it easy! I didn't get no "HUD" when I started. All I got was a big can o' nothin'!.

Since our inventories are all kept server side, I'd guess that deleting anything from your computer would not reset the HUD.

. Looks like they still haven't fixed the first move tutorial/star. It's been broken for a couple of months now

They really should have one of the newer OIs open to everyone as well. I much preferred the old one, it was a lot more informative/easier.

The new one has you hula dance in front of a monkey in order to get one of the "communication" stars

I was almost too embarrased to do this one-well, my alt was....I wanted to see what the new OI was about. The fun thing was that it actually offered a "story" that you could follow. The old one I got in February was just a place full of people not knowing what to do. I left after five minutes, not completing ANYTHING there...

I just...TP'd away after I had found both Search and Teleport in the menus.

What if there were a little private orientation part of the program on everyone's computer - a disconnected SL -where you could learn to walk around, etc., but, of course, not be connected to anything until you desired? That way one could launch the program, become a bit oriented, then connect to the grid. Does that make any sense at all? Like an antechamber or a dressing-room.
