I know there has got to be an easier way of lining up my product vendors than "eyeballing" it. I know it has something to do with the x-y-z sliders, but could someone tell me HOW?
I have 9 products, in 3 rows, 3 columns, and they're just a smidgeon off here and there. It's driving me NUTS!!

building forum might be better, but I'll answer here
Go into the edit menu (Right click > edit) and clickmore. In the object tab you'll find XYZ position fields. Each is color coded so you can see the axis on the sliders as well ^^ Just make each column have the same X and Y, and each row (Going up I assume) have the same Z.

Say you want something lined up on the Y axis. Place the first object where you want it. Copy and paste that coordinate into the next one on the object page in the edit window. It's as easy as that.

If X Y and Z are the same, it will be in the exact same place. Z is the up-down, so if you want them in a column going upwards, give them say X and Y rthe same, with Z going up by 1 or 2 meters for each one.
For rows going across, you give them the same Z, but a different X or Y (Depending on your layout, look at the axes to determine which to change).
I'd help you in-world if I could, but no SL here =(

Maybe it's just my eye. The coordinates are all right, but it just looks "off".
Thanks for the help!

Hrm can't argue with the math =P
Are the vendors the same size? If not that could be whats confusing your eyes ^^

Yes, everything is the same size. I'm beginning to wonder if my building is slightly cockeyed.

HoneyBear, do you know how to use the grid when moving stuff around? If not, I can give you a quick tutorial. (Or someone can if I'm not back right quick.) (... meaning the editing grid, not the SL grid ) ETA: Visited with HoneyBear inworld and her prims are now all beautifully in line.

In the Edit window, click the box next to "Use the Grid" then you can snap objects to the grid that appears when you are moving them.
