Can anyone tell me what happened to the beautiful Castle Ruins (Deutsche BurgrUine) in the region Frisch? Plenty of photos of this place still remain on the net, but the build is gone, leaving just a barren hillside. It was hosted on Linden owned land, so I just cannot believe LL would let a place of such beauty just vanish. A few residents still gather on the land where the castle once existed, they are previous members of the busy community that was once there (apparently it was a portal for new German users), they also have no idea of what occured. All that is left in the region of Frisch is a few prims and signboards, sort of floating randomly. I guess I am being part curious and part sentimental, but I would love to know what happened, the original creator was a guy called Jauani Wu. Was it a horrendous mistake with no baackups? or something else. Will it ever return to the grid? Is anyone else bothered ? It was very cool...I have explored the region now, and something definitely did happen here. The nearby Beirgarten was littered with bleeding babies (griefer gun ammo), and all the people I have met have no idea where this truly amazing build went. Lucky there are some very good images on the net to remind anybody who wants to see it. There is a tremendous sense of loss in this region, in one corner of the next region is a community build (on a parcel with 0 mins return) many of the people I meet here are former members of the community group that used to use the ruins as a meeting place. The big mystery is why the Lindens are giving no answers to the questions from the residents. I know it is unhealthy to get attached to a place, but surely some statement could be made, as to the reasons why it just vanished, leaving so many with a sense of loss.
oh well...life in the metaverse goes on..another SL mystery.
I hope I am not being too much of a tourist. also can anyone advise me how to put links into a thread without the tags showing?

Just copypasta from the Linden Blog..(I posted the question there too (no reply from any of the Linden Posters))..
"Lindens! We really do need to think about saving inspiring builds. I was also disappointed to discover the German Castle Ruins had vanished. I thought it was one of the better build with which to introduce new people in SL to the possibilities here, especially other Germans. I visisted fairly often with new residents in tow. As this was a Linden site, created by LL I think, why was it disbanded? The current sim is a mess. I do think the ruins were never properly promoted and used by LL. Quite a shame. We have lost so many good examples of the potential of SL. It is one thing for shops to fold, but LL should keep an eye on what it might want to save for the future, even if only a handful of places -- something like SL monuments. Michealla Noel."
This build was really awesome, as was the community who gathered there....

That was a wonderful build. As I remember, it was trial project built for LL by a third-party developer as a model Orientation/Help Island for German speakers. I think LL then dropped the idea in favour of registration portals run by third parties.

WHAT?
That is a terrible shame that this build is gone. It was one of my favorite places to go when I wanted to have a quiet sit and sort out inventory and the like.
I hope they are not lost forever
