Hi Folks!

I have downloaded and installed the Torley windlight settings, but I cannot seem to be able to get those into the environment editor within sl?

Can someone please tell me what I should be doing or what I am not doing!

TIA

BB :)

In Torley's zip file there are 2 folders that you have to put in C:\Programs\SecondLife\app_settings\windlight overwriting the ones you already have

You have to restart SL to get them working.

Curiosity officially raised. Who is Torley, and what do his settings do?

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Torley Linden is the person who has done almost all of the weekly "video tips" tutorials.

S/he has a long and colorful history, being one of the few people who was a "name" in SL BEFORE changing his/her last name to "Linden" and going to work for the company.

You'll see many people use indeterminate gender terms in describing Torley. He's male in RL, but generally uses a female av in SL. Not that it matters...the key thing about Torley is that s/he's probably the most cheerful, "up" person you're likely to encounter on the grid.

Although Torley doesn't seem to have an "official" title in the Linden hierarchy, s/he's really the best communication pipeline the company has to the residents. No matter what the org chart says.

Yep, yep, just looked him/her up in my spiffy officialesque SL guide. I thought the name was familiar, I just didn't make the connection. :)

Try to manually extract the folders from the zip files, not letting it unzip automatically.

Once i let it unzip itself and it put them in the wrong folder. Try doing as i suggested :)

Dozens of Windlight presets as created by Torley, and downloadable as a zip. file from the foot of this page:

I use them constantly. Some of them are truly spectacular indeed.

Are thes in addition to the presets already in the envoroinmnet editor?

I'm way too lazy to invent my own ;-)

Yes. There are about 3 times as many in the Torley file.
