Mute Group IM's?

I've joined a group recently, and now I receive so many im's from the group that each time I log in to SL I receive a message saying that my i'ms have been capped. I want to continue to receive the group notices, but how can I stop the im's? I tried unchecking the box in group information/general to stop receiving group notices, hoping that the im's would stop also, but I'm still receiving them.

At some stores and such, you can join their 'mailing' list, for lack of a better word, instead of joining a group. Could this be it? I think you have to IM the owner in that case.

Group IMs don't go to you when you are offline, but notices do. If group IMs went to offline people, I'd have hundreds of emails on my Argos account every day, and that's just from the Forum Cartel group.

It must be other IMs that are causing it to cap. If you have objects that send you messages, that would do it. Send your IMs to your email address while you are offline and you should find out where they're coming from.
