You could put, "mirrored image", in search and read.

I did. About the only thing I could find was a script that was full of syntax errors and a recommendation to look for another script by Jeff Gomez, that I cannot find.

Yes. It's called "copybot" and it's illegal.

There is a trick for making reflections, such as with water. If you search on refect or relfection that might bring up a few threads.

Jeff wrote some script for making "mirrored" objects, I think that was a couple of years ago.
I never really looked into it much, so I don't know much about it, it just seems to me, if you want a "mirrored" object, "Shift+drag", if it's you are the creator of the object. If you're not the creator of the object and it is no copy, you really have no reason to be making a mirrored copy of it. |

when you say mirror do you mean a copy?
or a reverse copy? if it is a reverse copy are you referring to only the textures on the object, or do you mean the entire object as though looking at it in a mirror? _____________________

If you are the owner of an object and you have edit permission on it, just make sure the entire object (all the prims) are selected or the prims are all "linked", then hold down the Shift key while you re-position the object. Instead of moving the original object, it will move an exact copy of the object. Assuming this is what you meant by making a "mirror copy".

I'm pretty sure he means a mirror copy which would save alot of time in creating, for example, a pair of sneakers.

Hmm, there's nothing really helpful there, but thanks for pasting. |

The problem is a mirroring script is also an item stealing script, allowing you to make a full-perm mirror image copy of any item you have modify rights for. I've made scripts to make mirror copies, but I don't hand them out.
Jeffrey's script should be fine if you just want to flip a single prim around an axis; it modifies the existing prim rather than creating a new one. |

My friend did a mirror image in mirror using snapshots and some graphic tweaking.

No, I want to make an exact copy of one of my objects but completely reversed. I am trying to build a full-prim avatar, and have built musculature of one arm. I can't be bothered to do it all over again for the other arm. _____________________

Is Jeffrey's script (turns out that IS the one full of syntax errors, but I've cleaned it up now) the only way? _____________________

I've made an left arm and left hand. I now want an identical right arm and right hand. _____________________

Yes. It's called "copybot" and it's illegal. There are no objects/scripts that are illegal in SL, only ways of using them that are illegal. Take Spolders for example - having one in your inventory is not illegal - likewise, having one that pays out but people don't have to pay into is also not illegal. Copybot is only illegal if used illegally. _____________________

Okay, I think I've now figured out Jeffrey's script. I wasn't sure how it worked in relation to the Prim Mirror Base object. I've now figured out that if I use a posestand, line up each prim of the left arm over my avatar and have the Prim Mirror Object at 90 degrees to the angle of the plane along which I wish to mirror, it should work. Jeffrey's script doesn't create a copy, it simply reverses the original prim - but that's okay, since it's an object I've made myself anyway.
Thanks for all your help guys. _____________________

Although I've never been to any of them, it's possible that the various prim shoe classes would provide a tool to do mirroring like that. Also, I just saw a "Manikin" on SLEX which claims to help do the mirroring of body parts you desire.
