I love terraforming and landscaping; so I have changed my land's look many times since I joined SL. This past December I bought some stones & curve palms w/ poseballs; in January when I was trying to re-design ~ I 'returned' all items into my inventory (instead of picking them up one by one). Well, I lost the items mentioned above ... so I contacted the creator and she was so nice to give back those items to me plus a few other type of plams. Well, last month I moved to another sim and I just started to redecorate now. Guess what? all of her items are once again gone "poofed" from my inventory. Searched all folders, including trash & lost/found ... opened every one of them ... rezzed all palms & trees ... they are gone!! I went back to buy some more yesterday; because I do not want to contact the creator again ... I don't know whether it's SL's fault or it's the way she set her items that upon "return" command - all be returned to her instead of the new owner. Have any of you experienced this or known of this problem? Any suggestion as to how can I prevent it from happening again next time?? Thanks!! ♥

If you deed objects to group and they get returned all kinds of weird things can happen. Were they set to the parcel group or deeded? You normally don't have to deed them.

It happened to me only once, and an awesome, honest SL creator (can name the good ones, right, only the 'shame and blame' can't be named here?) AWM Mars, contacted ME and said hey, this item is yours but was returned to me, you didn't mean to do that, did you? I hadn't, of course, and he sent it right back to me. I hadn't even known where it went, or why it went. Kudos to the good guys like that, and good luck to you.....

I did not deed the items to anything ... the ones I bought yesterday were just put on ground and there were no blue windows popping out asking to be deeded. I'm confused, should I deed those items to my group? If you are in-world and would like to see the items; they are the clumps of palms right infront of the tiki deck (the land is still pretty empty). The LM is in my picks under "indian chiefs" *grins* ...

Deeding is something you do manually, from the edit window. And, no, you don't want to do that unless you need to, and if you don't know if you need to you almost certainly don't need to.

I had a hammock between two palm trees that had suddenly disappeared, couldn't find it anywhere in my inventory. I went back to the same place and bought another one to replace it. The next day, the owner contacted me asking if something was wrong with the first one since most people don't need two of such an item...after I explained, he refunded me the money for the purchase of the second one I have never forgotten that and frequent his place first whenever I need tropical type of trees

if you 'return all' in one lump sum, you will likely lose all your 'no copy' items. best way is to take each item back into inventory individually you can avoid this evil SL glitch.
