The verification page requires you to confirm that "The information that I am providing is true and correct, and I consent to its verification against public records or government-issued identification."

Notably it does not require you to warrant that the information is actually yours. This might be considered something of an oversight.

there is actually a reason for this. Aristotle provides services for 3rd party verification. so that companies may verify supplied credentials. but it is a humorous loophole, and prompted me to attempt it with my own 12year old son's information (which worked).

REALLY hard to tell, as up until now they've referred to being PIOF or PIU as 'account verification', while saying that being Aristotle verified would also count. However, in post #3794 of the upcoming changes thread (22 April PDT), Blondin responded as follows to this question:

Blondin: You would be double safe as both a Premium account and a verified paypal will both count as age verification.

Note - 'age verification', not 'account verification'. Is this for real, or a slip of the tongue (sorry, fingers)? We know that PIOF or PIU will get us on to Ursula, but once the new viewer is introduced, whether we will also be able to get into privately-owned regions that require 'age verification' without using Aristotle remains to be seen.

Adult Verification Failed
04-23-2009 08:06
My adult verification failed on the beta interface yesterday (I thought it was as good a time as any to just "get it done";). For those in a similar situation, there is a support ticket option for manual adult verification (this DOES send information to LL).

I sent in a scan of my driver's license and a recent invoice showing my address from my auto mechanic. I was manually verified within 24 hours.

True, the entire world may now know my driver's license information (and who looks after my car), but honestly, in the grand scheme of things, I cannot see this information being useful without someone mining/stealing my other data.

Oddly, I trust the manual process I went through more than this Aristotle system.

Just a few thoughts on the subject.

Cheers.

Apparently Ronald Reagan visited an old folks home at the end of his Presidency and asked one of the inmates "Do you know who I am?", to which the response was "No dear, but if you ask Matron she'll remind you".
