Commercial Posts in Games/Contest Events Annoying You?

let's do something about it.

since abuse reports get more 'action' when perpetrators are reported in droves, i nominate this saturday to AR the three or four persons/accounts who are constantly putting COMMERCIAL advertisements in the games/contest events instead of the commercial events.

i will not name names, of course. you can find them very easily all throughout this week on the events listings. make sure you filter to show games/contests only.

The events calendar is pretty much a waste of space as it is so badly abused by so many people with no penalties to those guilty.

It needs someone to regularly check and 'weed out' the duplicates, sales and non-events.

i have attempted to reason with the main perpetrator, and ask them to read the events posting rules, where it is explicitly stated.

[14:40] Bloodsong Termagant: please read the rules for events posting again, as in this section: An event is framed by a beginning and an end time. Thus '24hr Sales' are not events. The 'Commercial' category was created for the purpose of grand openings, demonstrations, product launches etc. Each of these types of events should have a clear beginning and end time attached. Otherwise, they belong in the Second Life Classifieds, not the Events calendar. Posting events that are simply advertisements will not be acceptable.
