Last night while on SL I was suddenly disconnected with a message that there was someone trying to log into my account from a different location. When I logged back in I mentioned it to the person I had been talking to and they said to change my password immediately, which I did.
Did that mean some had figured out my password and was trying to log in or was it someone trying to log and attempting through trial and error to figure out my password or could it have been either? I'm inclined to believe that if they knew my password they would have gone to the SL website and changed the password to prevent me from getting in and changing it.
This has me a little freaked out and any info would be helpful.

I'd file a Support Ticket ASAP on that. Provide time and sim location if you can remember. Although a less terrifying thought might be that a Linden was trying to access your account for routine maintences and forgot to check to see if you were online. Good call on your friend's part to change your password though. Should buy him/her a round at the local SL pub ~Jessy

~Jessy How would I go about reporting that? I really don't know much about the workings of the support system. I don't recall the time, but I know the Sim I was in.

From: Mezz Lykin How would I go about reporting that? I really don't know much about the workings of the support system. I don't recall the time, but I know the Sim I was in. You can find a link to the Support page at the top of the forum here. Just under the banner. Log in from that page. It will take you to your account's Support Page. From there, there are a few options as to looking up things in the Knowledge Base, or Solution Finder, or to summit a Support Ticket. The fields in the Support Ticket are fairly self explanitory. Just give as much data as you can in the comments section to help out LL. If you're a Premium Account use the Solution Finder first. Go through this step-by-step. (yes, this is a meandering way to get help). After the 4th step, you will be given the options to chat Live with Linden Support. Some are manned 24/7, others only 9-5 PST. But if you can chat with Linden Support, they can walk you through the information needed on your Ticket. If you are not a Premium, or can not contact a Linden Support at this time, fill out the Ticket as much as you can, and check back on it frequently to check for updates. LL may ask you questions, or give you steps to do. ~Jessy

Run a virus checker and adware programmes on your whole system, you MAY have been infected with a keylogger maleware. If you are using XP, control panel, firewall, exceptions tab... check all software that has exceptional permissions to bypass the firewall, uncheck all except your virus software and SL. Remote assistance and iTunes/QuickTime automatic updaters are a pain at best and not required. Anything suspicous, run more checks on the programmes/services running on your PC. Go to a Port checking website and run a thorough check to see if any ports are visible. Check your router security logs.

This has me a little freaked out and any info would be helpful. If it got as far as sending you a warning then someone had entered your name and Log in password. CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD AT ONCE !!! If you don't you Risk them Hijacking your account (By changing your password) or Robbing you blind. Make sure you report it to LL as well. Angel
