I used to have a cat that would do that when she was eating, if anyone else (human or feline) approached. She was basically telling everyone "sod off, this is MINE!"

 Any experienced cat owner would know you feed the two seperate or across the room from each other. It's not bad at this age, but just wait... Trust me, I had two 150Lb male Rottweilers and pecking order is teh debil at chow time. _____________________
