3 days in a row above 100 million L traded!

Usually it is 1 day at the beginning of the month. Who said the end of SL is near? huh...huh?

*snerks* That's just the Lindens pawning off their L$ onto us before they close their doors! :p

Well, you have to be willing to buy them...that's almost 400,000 American dollars a day business, not too shabby for the end of the world :)

Maybe, but I can't help thinking it might, instead, be connected to the 80K+ In-World figures I've been seeing on a daily basis on the log-in screen.

I agree that it is probably due to the higher number of avatars that can login because of tech improvements.

And it is a pretty good time top sell lindens, put in a sell order for 259.

And by the way, 4 days in a row above 100 million in sales on the Lindex!

End of the world, my dupa.

w00t! :D

*comes back to the thread* Hmm... I shoulda used the sarcasm tags, since the :p didn't give it away? I was mocking the "Second Life is DOOOOOOMMMMEEEEEDDDD!!!111" crowd ;)

I think it's actually not -just- because of the higher consecutive numbers, but that this is the cheapest way to get your shopping therapy in this economy. 2 USD worth of L$ can buy a number of great items. Plus, you don't have to "pay to play" in SL, so you can spend that USD on buying L$ and spreading the monetary love to the rest of the grid.

I think it's also why the console game industry is doing fine.. people are now spending more money on longer lasting entertainment or cheaper venues.

I sold for 260 and it only took a few minutes so maybe I should have gone higher. Thanks for the tip.

If you sold Lindens at 282 you lost money (unless SLX doesn't have a cash-out tax like Lindex does?). The lower the L$ amount the more USD you get when you sell. And yes, XStreet and Lindex have their own rates/markets still, AFAIK.

Oh right. Of course. Less Lindens per dollar = more dollars per linden for me. I should have set it lower. Anyway I got more US$ than I would have using the "non-advanced" method so I was pleased.

i was only selling 50k at the time..
i'm still confused with the market..xstreet has these things called pips..i guess that is their commission that comes off the top..

the whole thing confuses me..

is it because of a tax or because you get a better price at a lower number?
i don't understand getting a better price selling at a lower number unless you are selling a lot..
but then again..it's just confusing even trying to find information on xstreet and understanding it..if they would keep sell and buy out of the same sentence it would be a little easier..
especially when a tired mind is trying to understand it all lol

Edit ..it would also be a lot easier to understand if they left the buy and sell history with the numbers bought and sold at and the amount at the time..
all mine shows is i sold a certain amount but not for what and what i recieved for that amount..

i ended up with 177 on the sell and i think it cost a dollar on the sale..
how 282 adds up to 177 is beyond me hahahaha
bleh..rest is good for the mind lol

Oops, yes, I did miss the implications of the Smiley. (I THOUGHT it didn't really sound like you.....)

And yes, I agree that the substitution of shopping with a 'dollar' worth 4/10ths of a US penny for shopping with that US dollar is a very plausible way of getting one's shopping jollies.

Yay SL!!
