The easiest, most cost-effective way is to buy it. Either click the little L$ symbol next to the clock in the viewer, or the link kindly provided by Toy LaFollette above.

You can earn money in-world, but pay is generally poor compared to hourly rates in the real world (hence my first sentence above).

You may also find Cindy Claveau's guide to making money in SL useful, but I don't think it's maintained here. The latest version is at a third-party forum. See here:
