As a noob I have been experimenting. I accidentally put some wearable fireflies into my room. They are in fact halfway through the floor and hanging down into the room below. I can't find a point in the cluster to click on and so I can't delete or remove them. Does anyone know how I can get rid of them? Many thanks for any help folks

Do Control+Alt+T This will turn everything red and highlights transparencies. The prim your fireflies are in is transparent. You should be able to see it with the Control Alt T trick, then just right click and delete. Don't forget to do another Control Alt T to turn transparencies back off when you're done.

Thanks MoxZ. I tried this but unfortunately it still did not show the main prim. All the fireflies are there but no matter how hard I tried I could not click on an individual one and nothing else worked. I kept selecting the wall or the floor behind the group of fireflies. I fear I might need the centre of the prim and that seems to be in the floor. Certainly a large prim did not appear in red. Ah well, back to the old drawing board.

Wooooo Hooooo. I take it all back MoxZ. I found the central prim. Tiny little beggar it was too, but I got rid. Many thanks my friend. If I see you in SL, I owe you a drink.

Sounds like it may be a particle thing. I had a similar issue happen when I was new and couldn't get rid of swirling particles. I did some research and found this that worked like a charm:
Go into Client(Or Advanced depending on the viewer you are using), then Rendering, then Types, and uncheck Particles. If you can't see the emitter you may need to highlight transparent - you'll find that in the View menu. Everything transparent will turn red. If you still can't see the emitter, you may have buried it underground. If this is the case, go into Client (Advanced), Rendering, Types and uncheck Surface Patch. The ground will now disappear. Once you've found it take the little perisher into inventory (or delete it!). Then reverse all the steps to restore the world to normal - although you can keep the Client menu up - it's so useful.
NOTE: If the Client/Advanced selection is not available at the top of your screen, press CTRL+ALT+D

It's hard to remember back to the things that seemed so overwhelming when new after being in SL awhile. I appreciate posts like these to help me recall and know what kind of help someone may need in world.
