Yesterday, a casino appeared next to my land with constant obnoxious noise. Since there are numerous sources of the noise, I don't know how to mute all the objects. Can someone please help me? It's driving me crazy! Can I mute the owner's land so I don't have to hear the noise? What can I do?

I'm betting the casino owner isn't the land owner. I had this happen when I first got my land - some bozo just plopped a casino down on it.

But right click on the pieces, and choose Report.

A little Explanation of Casino...
06-23-2008 13:58
I'm not sure I should have called this a casino, but a huge complex appeared which has shopping with mega camping downstairs, and the entire upstairs is devoted to games you play for lindens and they pay something out if you win. There appears to be a few gambling machines as well, but the sounds are going all the time, even with no one in the place. I'm lagging on my property. I can't imagine what this will be like when it's full.

If the noise is as horrible as you say, any customers the 'casino' attracts won't stay long, let alone return!

Here's a few things you can do taht will solve this immediately.

1. On your land, go to the "Media" tab and check "Restrict spatialized sound to this parcel".. that will mean that you can't hear sounds generated outside your land.. great for car noise, casino noise makers, arcades, and griefers.. but the downside it that you lose your neighbor's babbling brook and chirping birds sounds too.

2. Ask the arcade owner to either remove or tone down the noise makers.. or perhaps ask THEM to turn on the spatial sound limitation on their land... so that their sounds aren't polluting the area. (this rarely works, as people often use sound effects as an "attractor" technique.)

3. Mute the person who owns the soundmakers. Once you've muted a person, you can't hear the sounds of any of their objects either. Luckily, LL is in the process of making it easier to unmute people you've muted.. so this may not be quite as major of an issue as it once was. (note, until 1.20 comes out, you'll never see an IM from them, or a notecard, or receive anything you've paid for in their shop, etc.. so don't mute unless you HAVE TO)

I'd start with #1 first.

Muting the Owner Worked.

I muted the owner of the games/ land and the noise is now gone! There are a number of
gambling machines, like Black Jack you place 10L bets on, but others that were definitely betting, but you don't actually place bets. There was an elaborate series of money changes you have to do before the money ends up going to the casino owner for a bet. Way too confusing for me to follow, though.

Just realize that is only for you, everyone else on your land will hear that craziness. Be sure to try and get him to set his sounds within his parcel. It may negatively affect your own traffic. Sucks, I have one plot that is neighboring what is slowly becoming a graveyard for lost planes, I feel your pain.
