Face light won't go away?

Help, please. A bit of a newb here.

I purchased a skin that came with something called a face light. I didn't know what it was for, but I tried it on. I guess it keeps your face, and really the rest of your body, lit up no matter what the time of day. I think it's nice during noon when you look really ugly for some reason, but the rest of the time it looks fakey.

So I removed (detached?) it. Then when it was dark I noticed a glow on the ground following me around. Is this still the face light? I can't seem to get rid of it. I don't want to glow in the dark. I've tried detaching everything but it's still there. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

P.S. I see four tiny gray cubes around my head when I first log in, then they disappear. Don't know if they're causing it.

A few things I'd try in this situation, although I've never had it happen to me.

1. Type 'worn' into the search bar in your inventory. See if you are still wearing something even after you think you've taken everything off. If it's creating light it would be an object (an item represented by the box icon).

2. Clear your cache in preferences and re-log.

3. Teleport to another area. Sometimes problems in one sim will resolve themselves if you go somewhere else.

Press ctrl+alt+t to highlight transparent objects. My guess is you'll see those four cubes around your head again. Right click and detach them.

Those four boxes are almost definitely the face light.
As Walker said, they'll be transparent most of the time, except when you TP or log in. Manually detaching the object in your inventory is the easiest way to get rid of it.
If it still sticks do a "detach all", log out, clear cache, relog. Has helped me in the past to get rid of attachments.

They are connected to your hair most likely. You might have to modify the hair and delete them from that.

edited - I see you said skin....you might still check to see if they are attached to a bodypart.

Yes, it was attached to my hair. I was confused because one came with my skin also.

It turns out I can turn off the light through a chat command. I like the hair and this will be great if I'm out at "noon." Sure was confusing at first.
