Have you double checked to make sure that you haven't accidentally muted them? In the View menu, you can bring up the list of people and items that you've muted.

Lately people have been having problems with SL. I don't know if it's related, but I have been having trouble with TP's and group chat. It may be a problem with SL's servers that will be fixed soon.

It *is* weird. Grasping at straws here: Any chance this is only happening when you're in one particular sim?
Failing that, just superstitiously, I'd try power-cycling any network gear (routers, etc.) between your client machine and the ISP. I can't say that I've ever heard of this problem, so I have no evidence that could help, but... I dunno: it's something to try.

I am having similar problem for last 3 days, my IM's only get to friends once I log off, so I only see any replies next time I log back in, also I seem to show as offline to them when I am not. Totally fed up with SL now, pretty annoying when your friends cant see you or receive your messages.

This happened to a whole bunch of friends a few weeks back as well...we did some experiments and came to the conclussion that it was the sim on which we all hang around at. If you logged into second life at this sim, you would not appear as online nor have the ability to recieve ims (would say user offline and such) But if you logged out and went to a different region (I choose Morris) you would be seen online again, and ims would work. The second you would tp back to the sim, you were offline again! Frustrating for sure. All it took to correct this problem was a sim restart. I think my post on it still lingers somewhere in the forums. Good Luck!! Furry

Thanks Furry, I will definitely try that, I usually log in at my home so will try elsewhere to test it, fingers crossed!
