Repeated offers of friendship to myself!

For about 3 weeks now, I check my email to see any IM's that were delivered whilst offline, almost but not quite every day I am getting messages saying that I have offered friendship to myself and to log in to accept or decline! Yesterday I had 8 of them.
When I log in there is nothing for me to accept or decline, I am completely baffled by this, how I managed to offer myself friendship I know not,but its getting ridiculous now, has anybody come across this phenomenon before and know how to stop it?
All suggestions gratefully received:-)

Wow.. Try insulting yourself a few times

j/k that IS pretty odd...
Might try unchecking the setting that sends your offline messages to your email for a few minutes, then rechecking it later.

Is it possible for a script to do this? How strange.

I never had this problem. I don't get along with myself well enough to be friends.

It's probably one of your alts playing a joke on you...

Actually this is weird, it might be worth a support ticket.

Check the mail headers.

It's really easy to spoof the headers that are normally displayed by email programs. This could be someone playing a joke on you. All they'd really need is your email address.

Do you have any alts? Have you offered friendship to them?

I find that I get some interesting cross messages in my email when I transfer items to one of my alts. Since I use Gmail, it just says "From Winter to Me".. not specifically WHICH Winter, to Whom.

Try partnering with yourself.

And don't do it half way, say something sweet in your proposal. It may increase the chances that you'll accept.

And I'll add - remember to forgive once you decide to leave yourself. Don't hold on to all the anger.

Could be someone just playing with you, sending edited packets of friendship to make it appear as if you offered it to your self.

I am glad in a way that its not just me being dense! Some brilliant suggestions by the way lol
If only I could respond to myself I would say in no uncertain terms to get lost!!
Just checked my email and overnight I had another 4 offers, I really am desperate to befriend myself it seems, the email headers definitely say my exact name, and if it is anyone somehow playing a joke, they surely would have got fed up by now as I cant respond?
I really thought someone else would have come across this but so far it seems not.
Maybe I will stop the messages to email for a bit to see if that does the trick.

Personally speaking I would IM me in-world to say I accept. Then start dating. You never know if you will even get along with yourself until you have really gone out a few times. Don't take things to far too fast, you might scare yourself off...then you will only have yourself to blame. It could work out for you. You might then offer partnership and even a marriage proposal. I hope you invite us all....and if you have an SL child...at least you know it will look like you...

Um, what were we talking about again?

-Blu- or a reasonable facimile thereof.

have you been playing with any masturbation animations?

:-)

One suggestion might be that you have somehow picked up a script that could do this...not sure though and I have never herad of anything like this.

Try removing everything from your avatar. ( I believe its by right clicking your avi and choosing "remove all"?)

Then walk around naked for two days to see if you still get those invites....LOL...most likely you'll get invites of another kind if you do that!

ok...serious again....just wear items that you know and trust.
