Problem after downloading Windlight viewer

Has anyone else had this problem? I downloaded the Windlight viewer, which I subsequently uninstalled when I discovered how much it slowed everything for me. However, since then the time on my log-in screen is permanently stuck at 10.21 a.m. and I have no log-in option regarding location (other than to go into preferences). What's more, I've stopped getting any blog updates! I've tried re-installing 1.18.4(3) but the problem persists.

Any ideas please? :)

uninstall everything to include SL. shut down the puter for a couple minutes. install SL and try to log in again?

Uninstall doesn't actually delete all of the SL files...if you want to do a truly clean reinstall, make sure you search and delete everything else as well first. In particular, the file at C:\Documents and Settings\"Your User Name"\Application Data\SecondLife has been known to hang onto troublesome information. Chat logs default to this folder as well, though, so you may want double check for that and pull them out before you delete the file.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Thanks for your quick responses guys - yes, I thought I'd searched and found everything, but perhaps I missed a sneaky little file hidden away. I'm a Mac user, and I do find that things get into odd places sometimes! I'll try again - and shut down - before re-installing, then see what happens. ;)

I have a MacBook Pro. The other version of WindLight was running just fine for me but this version was running horribly slow. I fiddled around with the preferences and figured out that doing a custom setting in the graphics tab and setting the draw distance way down low solved the problem. I can have everything else cranked up. It also solved my crashing after tp 90% of the time which has been going on for 4 months! Yipee. I got my sparkly water back and I can tp from place to place and get around nice and fast.

Ah, that's so encouraging, especially since I've been crashing left, right and centre since the last update. If I end up simply re-installing the Windlight viewer, I'll give it a go!
