I don't know, but forum abuse is starting two threads on one subject. In the future, try to condense what you need into one thread so we can answer all your questions in one place. If you forgot something and need to add to your thought, use the edit feature.

Is trial abuse when someone takes someone to court not necessarily in hopes of winning their case but because they want to give them some sleepless nights and mess up their lives?

No. silly Trial abuse is when you abuse someone just a little bit, to see if they like it and want more.

Its abusing the trial version of something.. IE reverse engineering trial software to get the full product, which may be included in the trial anyway, just not allowed to get to it..

In SL its using a trial of an item as if it were the full item I think, with the demo-ness somehow removed.. or something.

 I bought a demo hair once that was about a million colors and didn't have the rotating sign over my head. I loved the funkiness of it so kept the demo, and ended up buying one of the regular colors anyway. I'm trial abusing by wearing the multi-colored hair???

I think OJ Simpson was charged with Trial Abuse after his farce "glove fit/acquit" thing ended...

lol.. i think it only pertains to it if you have to alter the trial to make it wearable or something.. if it looks fine then hey, it looks fine. My hair is freebie panache, so I'm happy lol.

Sounds like in SL it would be better to make a more annoying nag on the demo version than to chase after people threatening frivolous AR.

lol but its trial abuse if you remove the nag, like remove the script that says its a demo above your head(Assuming no-modify and you somehow removed)

Man: Good morning, I'd like to have an argument, please.

Receptionist: Certainly, sir. Have you been here before?

Man: No, this is my first time.

Receptionist: I see, well we'll see who's free at the moment. Mr. Bakely's free, but he's a little bit concilliatory. No. Try Mr. Barnhart, room 12.

Man: Thank you.

He enters room 12.

Angry man: WHADDAYOU WANT?

Man: Well, Well, I was told outside that...

Angry man: DON'T GIVE ME THAT, YOU SNOTTY-FACED HEAP OF PARROT DROPPINGS!

Man: What?

A: SHUT YOUR FESTERING GOB, YOU TIT! YOUR TYPE MAKES ME PUKE! YOU VACUOUS STUFFY-NOSED MALODOROUS PERVERT!!!

M: Yes, but I came here for an argument!!

A: OH! Oh! I'm sorry! This is abuse!

M: Oh! Oh I see!

A: Aha! No, you want room 12A, next door.
