Er.. Yes. And don't forget the center of the country, too. I just mentioned the east coast because they get out of work first..

http://theburnman.com Not happy about Linden Labs purchase of XStreet (formerly SLX) and OnRez. Will this mean LL will ban resident run online shoping outlets in favor of their own? |

How high can it go before people start crashing, having trouble logging in and lag makes SL unpleasant these days?
The performance of SL has for a long time acted as a sort of "online now" cap. |

Concurrency has been around 51k for the last couple weeks. It doesn't appear CSI has changed anything... yet.

My boss is probably happy about this. It's over 52k now. Anybody know the record? Think I heard 55k not too long ago.. _____________________

I did collect stats on concurrent users (taken from the SL homepage) regularly yesterday from about 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. CDT. I will post these later, but I can tell you that all hell broke loose on SL between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. CDT, and the numbers never got any higher than 40,000. Compare this to the 46,000+ that were online when I first signed on at five.
I can only assume that the surprisingly low figure was due to the impact of slow logtins and serious lag due to amazing levels of overcrowding on some islands (I was on CSI:NY Orinetation West1 to observe, and it was PACKED with people; Jeska Linden finally came in with her team and teleported about 3/4 of them to other copies of the CSI:NY Orintation Island by 11:00 p.m. CDT). FYI, YMMV. |
