The person has one video and no credentials.
If you look closely, the cars are pictures inserted into the 3D, which is a technique used by architects.

The video contains animations that can be done with any reasonably high-end 3D modelling software on the market. Nothing particularly amazing there.

I can't see any problems using that for "Second Life 2.0", but I doubt that it will be done in the near future since it will require high end graphics cards at the user end, a lot of bandwidth and plenty of computing power at Linden Lab.
"Full Screen Anti-aliasing support". Yeah, fine, but the processing to achieve that has to be done at the user PC graphics card.

If someone wants to pay for all this, fine, but this is not a technical challenge really. More a commercial one.

Second Life will only ever be as good as its content creators.

So unless Linden Lab has managed to hire a 10000 graphic artists for Second Life 2.0, it's gonna be the same old crap but with a shadow beneath it.

It's a faaaaake!

If anyting, we've seen SL do incremental progress over time. The notion that a fully realized enviornment would already exist and be that far along is laugable when one looks at the usual developmet timeframe from LL.

It would be nice to have graphics like that but I don't think the video is what it claims. I thought LL said there would never be a Second Life 2.0, it would continue with 1.22, 1.45, 1.200 etc.! I imagine SL graphics will improve by evolution rather than revolution, with shadows hopefully being the next big thing.
