The Second life website using a paypal account. Paypal will do all the conversions for you. Last I saw about $30 AUS will get you about L$5400-L$5500. You can add funds to your paypal account using your creditcard, or just link the creditcard to your paypal account and buy from the SL site.(paypal should do all the conversions)

There is also the SLexchange.com, tho it still uses paypal. I don't know if it takes credit cards.

Only those two places I feel are trustworthy and secure. Any other 3rd party site you might run into scams and/or problems.

If neither of those help/work. I think you may be stuck, the woes of dealing with a US based company. Hopefully someone can chime in with a better option.

You can also link your creditcard directly to your SL account and skip the fees to Paypal.

US dollar purchases are usually -- but not always -- instantaneous, so I suppose it would be the same for AUD.

that fee you pay is less then the bad exchange rate you get on 3rd party sites
