You know what's more annoying than failed Logins - the way SL steals the focus when it fails.
I have SL in a window - continually failing - and am on IM to someone in World with MSN trying to keep people who have turned up at my club happy by remote control.
Unfortunately, every time login fails, SL steals the damn focus, and I wind up overtyping my user name with whatever I was typing into MSN.
Q. Is there a way to stop it stealing the focus?

I think this might be a Windows thing, as I have the same problem with other programs stealing focus anytime an alert box or dialog window pops open. SL doesn't do this on my Mac, but I'm guessing that's not going to help you much.

Try minimizing Second Life while it is attempting to log in.

No - it's not a Windows thing. I changed something a long time ago to prevent apps stealing the focus (I can't remember what - maybe a TweakUI setting). Now - SL is the only thing that does it - which suggests it's hard coded behaviour. As for minimizing - that would get as annoying as the focus stealing in the circumstances
