I swear it never fails to amaze me that this multi-million dollar company can't hire some flunky and make it there only job to post notices in world when things go wrong.
I mean how hard would it be to let us know when stuff is messing up ????
In world goto send friend some money
[7:53:27 PM] Mischievous: [16:51] There has been a problem transferring L$. This error has been logged and reported. [16:51] An internal error prevented us from properly updating your viewer. The L$ balance or parcel holdings displayed in your viewer may not reflect your actual balance on the servers.
( ie: all money gone now showing up -1 in account )
So you log out thinking that will fix it just to find out you can't get back in and you read the grid status page
Login, Transaction, Information issues Posted by Status Desk on December 23rd, 2009 at 04:57 pm PST
[POSTED 4:57pm PST] We are currently experiencing some issues which may prevent residents from logging in to Second Life. This issue is also affecting updates of in-world information, including online status, transactions and other related functions. Please refrain from making any transactions or handling no-copy objects until this blog has been resolved.
I mean seriously pay some flunky 10 dollars a hour and his only job ever will be to post a notice when this happens to us that are in world and actually trying to run a business and let customers or friends know when stuff is screwing up
6 + years i've been in SL and i swear every year i'm starting to wonder why i even bother !!!

Not fixed at all!
I was running fine four hours then I crashed, Go to log back in, can't, had to wait 5 minutes for it to finish logging out my net dead ghost, Then I log back in, yay! goes through the whole process up to loading worlds... crash try again, sorry not available, beginning lout out process... 5 minutes later, yay logging in, all the way to loading world... crash.... Try an alt, logging in, loading world, actually finishes loading world! crash.... Try again after 5 minute wait time, yay logging in, all the way to loading world.... crash. Check the blog, and yes, it says there was a problem! That was resolved... Sigh.... I wonder when it will Actually be fixed....
I am seeing a pattern....

One thing I've learned is to never get too upset until it is determined that something is irretrievably lost, and since I've never lost anything irretrievably (money, inventory or otherwise), I've never had to get too upset.
It'd be nice if things were perfectly robust, perfectly communicated, perfectly planned, etc., but a company like that probably wouldn't create a product like SL.

From my understanding to get the inworld (everybody) notices it requires somebody to be there with the right god level. Which I am not sure who anymore can do this besides M and maybe a few others but there not in the office this time of night.

That doesn't make a bit of difference to the habitual Linden Lab haters. I often wonder why they stick around. My guess is they like to bitch.

FWIW I agree that issues affecting transactions inworld need to be announced there, and in fact there should be a system by which those notices would also pop up for new logins until cleared. why there isn't, makes no sense.

Yes, early warning that transactions are failing would save a good deal of time and botheration for customers and merchants alike.

A friend who was in-world during the troubles got an unsolicited IM. She had no dealings or sightings of the avatar that sent it. She ran it by me.
[14:19] .......... Comsys: login, transaction and asset issues resolved, check secondlife.com/status for details.
It was only when I checked the Profile that I realised that LL had contracted out elements of Grid support to a 3rd party company some months ago. Anyone with the surname Comsys is a sort of Linden cousin.
I don't know if others got the same message. She was on her own land and is at the full-sim tier level.
