It's not "Sametime 3d" any more, that sounds too hip, the new manager-friendly name for IBM's Opensim-based service is "Virtual Collaboration for Lotus Sametime":

That will take a chunk of LL planned behind the firewall service I would imagine, maybe now LL will concentrate on developing SL more for entertainment than a serious business platform.

So the idea is to pretend to collaborate, but not to really?

I thought happened in businesses all the time without any fancy technology.
Well, I guess adding lag will help...
