HI all... Look.. sorry if this had been done to death... answered already, etc, etc. But what IS going on with SL these days?? Every other day now Im seeing "Logins disabled", "Database load problems", plus for the past month or more unbelievably and "never seen this bad before" slow rez rates. Whats going on?? Im not seeing any real responses or fixes to the problems... LL just seem to be band-aid'ing the problem?
Is the 70000 online status the breakpoint? As its seems a new HIGH figure everynight now this past month or so? Has SL hit its limit?
If Ive missed a tread... or a statement over all this.. sorry. But from my POV everyone in LL seems to have buried their head in the sand over SL going downhill this past couple of months.
TIA

Nothing magic about the number 70000, but the population has been going through another growth spurt and LL doesn't have the latest bottleneck reamers all the way through yet. You can see FJ's latest report on all this stuff here: /352/cf/302108/1.htmlAnd a short overview of what's being done on the database illness that's been leading to the login blocks: /352/cf/302108/1.html#post2284528They've pulled some work away from that central database over the past couple of years, but they have more to do obviously.

Same here.
SL is becomming unplayable for me. My system isn't anything special, but it's above minimum requirement, and when I started (which was only december), SL ran fine, on medium settings, with very few problems. I was actually getting into it. Lately, I'm just not bothering, or popping in to see if things are back to normal. Lifes too short to spend 10 mins or more waiting for just one room to load up fully, IF it ever does.
So yeah, I'm just gonna echo the OP here - did something happen to cause it? Will it get better/back to normal at some point?

Yesterday around 21:00 CET I tried logging in, didn't work, generic failure and see the secondlife.com/status page.
Saw it, but they pretty much hide the grid status. So logged in again, worked, and SL crashed after a minute. too much lag, too much people. My viewer always crashes when the grid is too full.
Maybe SL should add some new server to cover the load. Or not, people will leave because of this, and so we solve the problem too.

Hi Viktoria ... thanks for the reply and the pointers to the recent threads. YEP.. I didnt spot them... but its nice to know I got it wrong. LL seem to be "on the case" regarding these issues and spending effort and cash on getting it sorted. So I guess its ... "watch this space" and give LL a chance to do thier job. /me wanders off to "watch this space" staring at water, no floor, one wall, and 27 green dots on her mini-map but only one cloudy avatar
