When to teleport, you will see a red line reaching up into the sky if you didn't land where the landmark was directing you. This can happen when you use an old landmark and the sim owner has defined a new tp zone. Cheesy Beacon "enhances" the line, by making it more visible, which reaches up into the sky from the point where you had tried to land, letting you move towards it.
Actually just tested inworld, and it now seems to send a pulse up the red line on SL Viewer 1.21.6. |

Thank you... I tried it and see what you mean, like a slow Roman candle fireworks. Its pretty cool in mouselook to watch it shoot up in the sky. I guess I'll leave it enabled...

It sends a pulse up the red line AND a wave that travels out over the grid

In other words, they used the most descriptive title for the kind of beacon it is

Unfortunately they didn't bring back the original beacon that let you see where exactly a target above you was, and how far away the target was, even if it was in another sim.

Somewhat related question here.
In the past when I selected a location on the map the red destination arrow also displayed the distance from my current location. I just recently noticed the distance is no longer displayed. Is it possible to turn that on/off. When traveling by flying vehicle that's a handy bit of info to have. _____________________

I just can't stop myself from reading "cheesy bacon" every time I see the title.
I want my cheesy bacon beacon option! Who's got nerve enough to request such a thing in the jira... _____________________

I'm horrified to learn this thread has nothing to do with bacon.

Oh dear.
This was so not intentional! Well likely they will laugh and not get angry over the time wasted looking at it... I hope! *runs and hides* Edit: just read it, and she defiantly added the enhanced provolone option too. Oh the panache! _____________________

Hopefully it will get shot down with a clever response.. ![]() edit: or, even better, we'll get cheesy bacon beacons! _____________________
