See: http://hiberniaskids.blogspot.com/2008/06/how-to-stream-your-own-radio-station.htmlI have been using MediaMaster to stream the MP3's on my hard drive to SL. Although it has not worked perfectly 100% of the time, it is so easy to use, and of course the best part is that it is Free!! Today I have not been able to access the site at all!! It's as though it has vanished from the face of the earth! Does anyone have any information about this? Thanks in advance!

ran across this tidbit: From: someone Just a heads up.. after having a mail thread with the folks at Media Master, they clarified that their existing service was not intended to be used as a multi-user broadcast and may be suspending the radio function until they can add proper authentication and single user streaming enforcement. (could be offline for a couple months).

I've not been able to hit the mediamaster.com domain at all for three or four days.
I suspect that little conversation with mediamasters pretty much queered the deal, I think. What a shame, I put a lot of work into my mediamaster radio station.. hours and hours.

MediaMaster

Having spent an inordinate amount of time uploading my collection onto their site, I sent off an e-mail to inquire as to the current state of play, visa vie 'My Radio'.
This morning I received an e-mail back from Eric Hixon (eric@mediamaster.com), stating the following 'Yes, we have had some power issues we are trying to deal with at our ISP. It is a pain for us as well.'
Fingers crossed all will soon be well, hope this helps.

It seems very odd that they have been off line this long for a simple power issue.
If nothing else, they would have a front end server up saying so, rather than no response at all.
Their blog says power issue, but why can't they just show a simple front page with that information.

Cool down guys, they are back. They still have little problems with the load balancer, which means the stream and the frontpage are not running yet, but you can sign in into your radio with: http://n90.mediamaster.com or http://n91.mediamaster.com

Services "like" MediaMaster
07-16-2008 07:44
From: Georg Stonewall No, it seems they are still working on it. And no, as far as i know there is no other service like that. Nothing as effortless as MediaMaster that I can find, and I have looked! Still, you may wish to look into Pandora Radio, or MP3Tunes.com. I've tried to stream both of these but they are not really set up to generate a stream like MediaMaster.com is. My efforts with MP3Tunes: http://hiberniaskids.blogspot.com/2008/06/streaming-music-from-mp3tunes-service.html Don't be misled by this one, it is a flawed solution. It will stream a single song, but not a playlist. I'll make the changes to that post shortly, so I don't mislead anyone. Pandora, as far as I have found, has NO outgoing stream that can be utilized (without a lot of illegal hacking). They use Flash Players and a unique cataloging system-- you don't really upload YOUR music to a catalog, you build a playlist based upon an initial performer choice and vote on "similar" music as it streams along. Gradually your choices are reflected. Still, it plays in a flash player, and there's no way to legally play this in world-- and no, I'm not interested in hacking it. H.

Has anyone had success with the old Shoutcast/Winamp setup for this?
edit: a quick search answered my silly question. Never mind! Gaaa *needs more coffee*
