Mysterious Floating Avatars

Has anyone figured out who or possibly what the mysterious floating avatars are, they can often be found just hanging there frequently in the centre or extreme corner of a sim. I've noticed they are usually fully or partially clad in the newsprint outfit. There's a few floating around the Bay City area at the moment, one at the Barcola end of the North Channel Bridge, she's been there for three days now, floating a few metres of the ground her head gently nodding.

There was a thread about this posted last year and I remember going to have a look at a few then. I just wondered if anyone had figured out who or what they were ?

I think I've seen one in a nearby ocean sim for several months! It's always in the sim corner when I look at the map. I don't constantly look there so I don't know if it ever logs off but it has always been there when I've checked. It was a ruth before so maybe it looks like a blob now. My guess is it's a bot that's been set up incorrectly.

I love those ghosted avies at zero pts underwater on sims.
I take pictures of them.
Some are stuck in animation,
one guy I ...don't want to know what he was doing last when he! got stuck

I've had one ghost avatar on the edge of my land - I tracked down the 'owner' and when she came to my land the ghost disappeared and all her problems were solved.

However, the guy who used to own a plot of land next to my place used to stand in the middle of his empty land for ages, apparently doing nothing. He was not a bot, it was possible to talk to him - but he never seemed to do anything!

I have one in the inland sea sim near me on the bottom, sometimes there sometimes not.
He's never responded to IM, I assume he's a bot of some sort.
