No hiding from my silly questions now.

Is there a trick to using search in game? It looks like Yahoo of old where you get one or two relevant hits per page. It would be nice if there was a way to search for things on the web to narrow down the choices and then go to just those places when you are on.

That would make too much sense.

The trick is to know the exact name of what you are searching for... then visit the land... make a landmark... the pull up the description and enter in the keywords it uses at the bottom... after that you MIGHT get it to pull up in the search engine, I doubt it though.

Search sucks. If I'm looking for a specific item, I'll usually browse SLX and/or OnRez first, then trundle off to the shop in-world to get a better look.

That doesn't really work for events and such though.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Depends what you're looking for. If I am searching a very specific object....I'll use the 'all' search engine and type in a relavent phrase or key word...... But most often I use places and classifieds and use key words and I always search all catagries because a LOT of things are not necessarily listed in their relavent catagories (ie: shopping, commercial, and so on)

I think the fact that search picks up on sooooo many key words has made it impossible for folks to lsit their places and business in an organized fashion. I realize many places and venders offer more than one service or item.... but the narrowing down of how something can be listed should be a bit more controlled. It would be nice, say, if any business or place had only one listing......and then in the description they could list any extra features or items. search is soooo mucked up with multiple listings of the same places......trying to capitalize on a single offering.....but it only makes search more confusing and frustrating.
I've been working out for a while how to construct their search better.....not that I think they'll be in the least interested.....but perhaps if enough residents get together and boycott the current chaos that is our search engine.....we might make some headway. LOL (maybe, hah)

SLX
Up 71 cents to $87.38
Must be a higher demand for steel lately.

But I'm guessing SLX is SLeXchange.com :)
I just took a look and that is exactly what I want! Thank you.
Everyday is adventure so far. Thank you all for making it easier.

Hi Jacinda, welcome to the forums!

You've obviously found SLX ... that and onrez.com are what a lot of us for web-based shopping. Also, LL's new search is totally usable from the web. Personally, I prefer to use this little front end for it:

Welcome Jacinda, glad you found us. It seems like there isn't a very good answer for this particular question but if there were this would be the place to get it.

Umm... you didn't happen to bring any pie did you?

lol, something about that dress makes them look bigger than usual...not that they're ever particularly petite. ;)
