As a non native English speaker I get confused sometimes about the English language. Please help me here: what does RESOLVED actually mean?

My best guess would be: still borked? still fubar?

In Linden terminology, "It kinda works and we don't feel like looking at it anymore."

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

As an information technology person in Real Life, from what I gather, it means "we've all gone home for the evening and we'll check on it tomorrow morning".

RESOLVED means litterally to be re-solved or solved again.
Solved is being in the state of SOL. Just like halved is to be cut in half.
And of course, SOL means Sh** Outa Luck

Therefore RESOLVED means it was almost working for a moment but they quickly rectified the situation.

Resolved

My basic English tells me that:
when its really resolved, it is considered as solved.
when it is hiddened in a liquid from sight , it is dissolved.
so I suppose resolved means the problem has yet to be resolutely solved. meaning there is still no resolution.

Right?

I think it is more a case of, "It kinda works but we are frightened to touch it again in case we make it worse."

My guess would be "Hey, us two Lindens checking it out can do it, so there you are, no more trouble." Usually followed by a nice video tutorial about stuff that works. Kinda.

...resolve an issue?

Two: One to look for the issue inside the server case with a flashlight, then decide that the problem must have resolved itself because all the blinky lights and wires look ok, and one to blog about it being resolved.

I looked in the server cases all day long and I couldn't find the problem with sim crossings ANYWHERE in there. All I saw were circuit boards and ribbon wires. You know what? I bet rez times would improve if we added neon case lighting. That stuff looks fast.
