First question/suggestion:
I have a question/feature suggestion concerning facial expressions in SL.
If Poses/Gestures/Animations the ways you can animate your avatar's body positioning/facial expression, what happens if you wanted to have a certain body animation (called X), be displayed on your avatar, along with a certain specific facial expression/animation (called Y). Right now, I don't know if it's possible to run 2 animations/poses/gestures at the same time, and get a hybrid effect on your avatar. I would think it would only do one of them, not both.
What I typically see, is that animation X may have a bit of body movement (say, it's a dance animation or something), but that animation won't have any real facial expression action going on. Then, say, there will be a body pose/facial animation, (Y), which animates the face to be an angry, sad, or sultry look (take your pick).
Is there any possibility of combining 2 animations in SL, or (if there isn't), that LL could create a new feature that would enable this to be?
Second question/suggestion:
While I'm posing an avatar, using poses/animations to get a good dynamic effect for screenshots, I have trouble getting the avatar's eyes pointing where I want them to point. Usually, the avie's eyes are looking to the right, left, or straight ahead. It would be nice to be able to work with some in-between positioning of avatars' eyes.
Also, I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but the game called "Garry's Mod" (based on the HL2 engine) would be something interesting for LL to look at for new feature possibilities. Garry's Mod has a really neat way of making a character's eyes point exactly where you want them to.

Just FYI, your avatar's eyes follow your mouse around the screen.

true, but when you've Alt+Mouse'd the camera around to look your avatar in the face, the fact that you've clicked on your avatar while Alt'ing the camera around, almost completely disables the mouse-following of your avie's eyes.

Yadni's Emoter HUD (a freebie) has all sorts of facial expressions you can add to your avatar while running other animations.
You can find it at the junk yard.

Rez a simple prim out of camera shot, and get the 'model' to Alt-left click that prim, the eyes and head will become transfixed, unless you move the prim out of view range like behind them lol... LL gave us all emotives when they introduced voice... Look in your inventories, I think they are under gestures or animations, maybe in the library lol.. can't remember, but they are in their own folder. They are very lame, but in my experience, the other emotive HUD versions available can cause you to crash if you use them to much.

In SL animations and facial expressions are different things. Animations controll body joint movements. Anyone can make these in external software and upload them. You can have many of these running at the same time on the same avatar if they controll different body joints (or even if they dont, but one overrules others at each joint) In the animation file you determine which body parts an animation file will controll. Usually its all but it doesnt have to be. If 2 files clash on the same joint, its the one with the highest priority that gets chosen on that joint (you set the priority when uploading the file to SL) If 2 animations have the same priority and both try to alter the same joint its the latest one that wins. Scripts can start and stop animations Facial expressions are all designed by LL. We cannot make more of these. You run these with scripting and can run combinations of these. So yes its possible to have an animation with facial expressions running at the same time. I have seen a cat saucer which can animate you to lick up milk from it, which combines an animation with a facial expression to make the tongue go in and out.
