I currently own 4608 of land and pay $25 a month for it. Now according to the chart of tier fees, if I buy anything above that my monthly fee will increase to $40 per month.

Will it jump that high if I just purchase a 512 lot or does it do it in smaller increments till you are closer to your land limit to the next tier fee?

If you buy even one meter of land above the level you are at right now, you will go to the next level and be billed for that higher amount on your next due date, even if you only own that land for a minute. So if you go up, you might want to think about filling your tier with more land. Otherwise you are paying for tier you're not using.

4096 Sq meter = $25 per month

from 4097 Sq meter it goes $40 per month until you get to 8191 Sq meter

and so on

If you deed your 4608 to a group, you will be able to own an extra 460m2 of land before having to tier up.

Don't have a group? Make one - just be sure to always have at least 2 people in the group, even if you have to make an alt, or LL will delete the group.
