HIPPO group membership

Please pardon me if this has already been asked. I've had a read through the thread headers and can't find anything similar.

My problem is that I apparently belong to a HIPPO group, though would bet my last L$ that I never joined the group. I receive frequent group messages from the owner of this group. Muting her does not stop the messages from arriving. On her advice I visited her sim in an attempt to remove myself from the group. However, not actually being a member of the group means the only option I'm presented with is to *join* the group.

I didn't join this group and therefore can't remove myself from it. The owner of the group is unhelpful and won't take whatever steps are required to ensure I no longer receive her notices, despite my having asked her twice.

Does anyone have any notion of how I can rid myself of her, her group and her notices? Please?

/me has nightmares of stampeding hippos ;-)

Bellbird, if it is a hippo group, it's easiest to remove yourself using the Hippo website.

Go to the Hippo Technologies main store. At the left of the entrance is a sign, where you can get a link to the hippo website. Just follow the directions and it will show you all the hippo groups that you're a member of. Cancel any, or all, that you see. It's pretty simple.

This only works for Hippo groups, not any other brand.

Some of these things are set up, that you only have to walk within range of the sensor to be added to the group. It doesn't always ask your permission.

The owner of the group can remove you. Wonder if you have a duplicate UUID as someone in the group...

Thank you Butch, I feel this is exactly what's happened. And thank you for the advice, I'll try it tonight when I log in.

Cheers
