Just downsized my SL empire. Sold everything and rented a nice lot on Mr. Figtree's beautiful sim (shameless endorsement). I have taken up sailing.

Presently using the freebie Flying Tako. Any recomendations for a nice sailing vessel to take her place at dockside?

The Trudeau's are awesome.

I also love my new Tetra from Seawolf Marine. :)

I think the Beach Cat available from the Trudeau sim is one of the most fun to sail small boats in SL.

Thanks for the shout out, Jannae. Nice to see you sailing across the neighboring sims tonight. :)

The Tetra is brand new. I guess it could be considered the modern equiv. of Trudeau's larger attachment boats:

The Tetra is realistic as with the other Boats from Verkin Raven.

I have the Cobra G2 V3.5 the SW150 V3.0 and the SWC v3.5.1 and they are excellent boats and great fun to drive.

The SW150 comes with a capsize option and thats a chuckle.

The SWC v3.5.1, I went to night school to learn how to drive this, lots of options and great fun.

If the Tetra is anything like the other 3 boats I have then it would be a good buy for any Sler interested in Sailing.

PS: Verkin, can I have a discount on the Tetra or would you like to drop one in my harbour just for show. LOL

Depends on the size of the empire and location of assets I guess. Mine was worth enough L$ to pay rent to Raymond for a very, very long time

No more tier headaches and naughty neighbors and tenants to deal with for me.

I have to check out some of these boats tonight after RL work. Thanks for the tips.

Another plug for the Trudeau line here. Beautiful wood designs, very nice realistic(ish) control schemes and huds -- a very nice experience for sailing.

Bought the Trudeau 32. Nice value priced craft. Took it for a test spin and am happy with it. The addition of a motor is a nice touch for navigating in harbors. tight channels, etc...

New question(s)

Where do you like to sail?

What was your most embarrassing experience at sea?

Addicted to sailing,
Jannae

Ooo...I like where this thread is going! (*gets a notepad ready to mark down co-ordinates*) :)

Favorite places to sail:

Fishers Island -- part of Sailor, Fishers Island (79, 51, 29)
Sailing - Adriatic Start/Finish, Adriatic (172, 191, 21)
NYC Club House, Bismarck Sea (14, 194, 21) *Move out a bit from the club house to rez your boat

Most embarassing moment:

Too numerous really but the one that really stands out is having SL crash down around my ears one day and relogging to the message - "The region you have requested is unavailable. You have been moved to a nearby area" - Korea I believe is where they decided to drop me. Anyway, popping in to a busy area Ruthed and with a 50' sailboat attached must have looked pretty funny. I was unable to teleport or remove the boat so I just relogged. :D
