Ok, been around for 6 months and I admit that I'm not in my twentys but I see people talk where it shows in chat something like "so and so licks her lips" without the name and colon. How do you do that? And have been in a club where some will howl and you here the howl and sometimes see a wolf. How do they do that?

I agree withthe above, except for activating all the guestures at once ;P

And do experiment with the guestures on your own, not in crowds. *grins* Most of us have lost the glitter of hearing "HOWLZZZZZ" after teh first 47584375834751 times we heard it on the second day of SL *snickers*

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

Howlzz are tolerable in small doses. Baby laughs should be a bannable offense, in my opinion.

Somebody write a JIRA thingy. Disallow gestures with sounds. We know how it turns out, we want the blue pill. Please put this particular genie back in the bottle :D

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Depends "where" you hang out. ;)

A Hip Hop club- probably not so great

A Goth/vampire hangout- tolerated more.

Excessively used- Find another hang out. ;)

I was invited to a club the other day, and I was there maybe 2 minutes (waiting for everything to rez) and I was inundated with howls and yells. They were making them repeat in the chat so my entire left side of the screen was a series of howls or screams.

I left immediately, told the host that I hate that stuff.

Good move!! I'm sure lots of people hate it but meekly puts up with it. With enough feedback we can reduce this c**p.

Oh! and bahh humbug!!!

Anya, how does one mute gestures? When I mute one of these idiots, it turns off their IM and Voice...but their **!!@# sound effects are still there.

Oh...and none of the audio sliders have any effect on it, either.

TOTALLY agree, Colette! Those two (and the baby cry) get on my last nerve.

There is nothing that will cause me to leave an establishment and/or sim (whether I'm shopping, dancing or just sightseeing) faster than sound spam.

Mari, I know, I know. But the 5% of the time gestures with sounds are used for good are outweighted by the 95% of the time they are used for evil. ;)

One of the sliders works to turn it down/off without affecting the music - just can't remember which one...will check back in world.

Reason I know is my partner & I recently had a reception in a dance club. I asked the owner if he could disable the sound gestures on property. He said "he" couldn't but one "individually" could and told me which slider.

I dislike the yay. Sounds very cynical to my ears. Oddly I heard someone the other day sound exactly like it. I wanted to tackle him and beat him.

I heard a "hello" the other day for the first time. Nice. Now I'll hear it a couple thousand more times and want to rip my ears off my head.
