Zindra: Are the mature sims on Zindra ever going to show that they are adult?

I bought land a while ago on Zindra. First day land could be bought or sold. The land said Mature, but this is Zindra, and it is the Adult continent. And I knew, at the time of purchase, there were some odd glitches causing various Zindra sims to show Adult, others to show Mature. So I assumed this would "fix" itself at some point.

Then I started to notice events on Adult land the last week. And I looked at my land again. And it is still Mature. Looked at the settings, and as expected, no way to change (it being a sim wide issue).

So, do I actually have Mature land then? Never to be labeled Adult? What is the point of having Mature land on Zindra? I could have just gotten Mature land elsewhere for far less money.

Some viewers don't show region maturity ratings correctly, and installing them may break other viewers, too.

If the region you're talking about is Danim, it shows as Adult on the viewer I'm using now.

Yes, Danim. Ok, thanks. Guess it is my viewer then. Odd that I see some as Mature, some as Adult. I'd think I'd see all one way or another if it is viewer caused error.

Clients based on the 1.22 and earlier SL client do not know what an "Adult" sim rating is, and so they show it as Mature. This is probably because numerically, "Adult" is the next step off the far end of their rating scale. So to simplify, if they store PG as 1, Mature as 2 and Adult as 3, an older client gets a value of 3, hits the end of its list with Mature at 2, and gives that result.

A more reliable way to see if a region is Mature or Adult is to turn off access to Adult areas in the viewer's general preferences tab, and see if you can still teleport into the region.

I'm not sure if this will block you from teleporting to land you own or not, so you may need to either go to another parcel in the region, or use an alt.

There's also -- though I'm not saying it's the cause here -- a specific issue with the versions of the Restrained Life Viewer, RLVa, which is used by Emerald and Meerkat (though not the Cool Viewer), it seems. It's not a biggie. As I understand it, the ratings system broke the version of Restrained Life used to compile the latest version of RLVa so Adult sims show as Mature on the top of the screen; this has been fixed in RLV itself (which is Cool Viewer uses) and -- at least one hopes -- this fix will be reflected in the next RLVa version for Emerald.

But if they are using a 1.22 or earlier client, they do not have the Adult preference options in their viewer.

I think it's a problem with Emerald, with or without RLV enabled. I have also noticed this problem, where a region shows as "Adult" on the map (and is indeed adult), but shows as "Mature" at the top of the screen as well as on the land properties/settings pages.

I've just been looking at the Emerald bug reports on their forum at http://modularsystems.sl/index.php?option=com_agora and apparently this is already fixed internally, so the next release should have everything showing correctly.
