You know, for those daft bored moments.

So here's one I ended up doing with some friends the other day.

Rez a platform, make it as bit as possible, rez some boxes on it and link the lot together.
Get a load of friends to sit on it.
Edit it to set the z height to say 4000.
Set draw distance to max and set a downward looking view and zoom out.

Then when everyone is ready...set the feature of this creation to physical.

Either we're just immature or the fun to be had from this was similar to sledging as a child, totally pointless but falling on a platform from 4000m and hitting sky boxes on the way down and spinning off them and eventually bouncing all over the sim on the ground when we hit was just hilarious.

Much giggling to be had followed by "again again again..."

What stupid games have you tried?

I have a 40m sphere with a "bounce" enabled interior I've done this very thing with.

Also fun: making vehicles and other good explode by unlinking and making physical.

Stacking avatars by using the "stand" feature in Mysti or Multitool

Manbo! and Onigokko

Hee! I read about doing this posted earlier in the year and entertained myself and my partner for a good thirty minutes this way. (falling from a physical object).

Also putting fly scripts in strange objects or shapes and whizzing around a sim. I've read about this but have yet to figure out how to fly any script I've managed to find.

You know, I got a box of mega-prims - except they weren't, as I couldn't res them out. They simply wouldn't appear. I tried several days in a row, and finally deleted the package in fustration.

I could seriously use a hollow 30m sphere. Really.

I am definitely trying this one tonight. Thanks for the great idea!

The first time I ever did this it was an accident. I helped a friend make the entire alphabet and numbers 0-9 in baby blocks, after they were all done I told her to put them to physical before she gives them away so they can be kicked around and played with. She highlighted them all....set physical and I about died laughing, I had no idea they would explode like that. Now I make them explode for fun when I'm bored.

I think I have one of those. When we were allowed to make mega prims awhile back I made a whole bunch of huge spheres to someday make a Saturn skybox for myself.....I have 3 or 4 different sizes and I believe one is 30m. If you want it or any of the other sizes just drop me an IM in world later this evening.

I'll do just that Smoke, thanks very much.

Ghosty,

The best mega pack I found is the "7000 megaprims" on SLX. Free. It's all cubes. It comes in a box of boxes. Each sub-box contains a set of boxes with a set Z value, from 0.25 up to 50 meters, about 300-400 megaprims per box.

http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=701196

You can make a hollow sphere out of a megacube. It's easier with this set than the old ones, since they're not cut, but all of them have their centers...er, centered. Just change the shape type from box to sphere, and hollow the sucker out.

This sounds like a great use of an Openspace sim.

Scatter a few hundred megaprims around the sky and go bouncing around as you fall.

So when physical objects fall from great heights, they can end up most anywhere. (I discovered this building something on top of my skybox one day.) If I took this example of a seated platform falling from 4000m, I'd want it to land on my property - and stay there.

I believe if I take a 50m megaprim cylendar and shrink it so it's 50m long, but only a meter wide ... and stack a mess of those end to end ... I can have a structure 4000m high and 1m wide.

Then, put a hole in the middle of my seated platform ... I can have a free-falling platform that doesnt end up in the neighbor's yard.

Think it'll work?

I've done lots of silly things and I can't remember most of them.

I built a 'public toilet', which is literally a toilet on a plinth with a waste tank and a big sign saying 'public toilet'! I've never used one of these myself but I have set up a few in sandboxes from time to time for people to laugh at, or possibly even to use!

That is one of my FAVORITE past times!!!

For better bounce & roll use a Sphere. When it hits the ground it rolls quite well. :D

You mean hollow out a spot in the platform so it slides down the megaprim cylinder? Do physical prims recognize hollowed parts? I don't know if it would work, but trying it sounds pretty fun.

The only problem is that I don't believe you'd be able to resize the megaprim like that. Most (if not all) of them tend to jump right back to their original size when you try.

You could do it with conventional prims.. 40 10m cylinders will get you 400 meters up, which honestly isn't much different than 4000 for this exercise.

I have a 1x1x100 from a set of the recently created megaprims.
I just set one out and made it a cylinder.
I put a block with a circular hollow on it, on the same center.
When made physical, the block slides down a treat - once the hole is a bit oversized. There is no SL WD40.

I can're call where I got the "140 or so Full Permission MEGAPrims". It was one of the sets publicised when the new Megas escaped. Let my know if you want the set inworld.

Other fun:

I bought a parcel in Miller yesterday. It's beside the road, at the very top of a hill. On one side the road runs down a very steep incline and over a suspension bridge.

It takes a bit of practice to position a hollow transparent sphere so that when it rolls down the hill , it gets on the middle of the bridge. I'm inside the sphere btw. Flying at the inside of the sphere helps to get it rolling right.
Yup! I *do* check that the map is clear of dots on the road before making physical. :)

About a week ago I was bored and made a simple game to be played with dragons. Each player has a "home" point, and there is a small field with sheep in it. Each player races to the field, takes a sheep, and runs it back to their home point. After a while the sheep are all gone, so you have to steal your opponent's sheep. The player with the most sheep at the end of the timer wins :D

Despite the simplicity of the game (I don't know how to script a scoring system or anything fancy, and it is possible to cheat) some friends and I spent a good deal of time playing it. The estate owner came and played once and froze people in order to cheat! Then he rezzed his own sheep field right next to his home point and ended up with over 100 sheep rezzed in the sandbox XD

I end up doing random goofy things quite a lot, but that's one of the more recent ones.

I just tried this one....except I used a 90mx10m prim set up as a ramp with a platform at the top. I couldn't get it rolling by flying so I inched it closer and closer until I rolled. Fell off the side of the ramp a dozen times until I finally made it to the bottom. This one was definitely fun!
