Why does SL alter the default settings in viewers ? Thats the question part the rest is a quick heads up on the latest RC. The Advanced/animate textures in the the latest RC is defaulted to off, instead of on as in all the other recent viewers. This gave me quite a scare when I logged into my shop today and found all my products that had moving texture stripts seeming to be broken. I spent a a bit of time rezing, restetting scripts etc before asking a friend, who found the solution. I can imagine many folks will be pulling htier hair out..er off trying to figure out why this isnt working now and even spending time trying to fix what isnt broken, like i did. So if your using the new RC, you need to go to Advanced menu and select Animate textures or all those nice flowing and rotating effects will not work.

Mine is on by default, I had no idea that was an option.

the RC decides what the best options are for your machine, I guess it didn't think your specs are good enough.

***the RC decides what the best options are for your machine, I guess it didn't think your specs are good enough.*** Hmm in that case the RC client needs its eyes tested I can happily run SL at full settings without any problems although i normally have it running one setting lower. /me aims a virtual kick at the RC, ahh that feels much better.

My fairly low-end PC still had it checked by default, and my Mac didn't have this problem either. Like the others, I didn't even know turning animated textures off was an option...
