Hello fellow SLers, Its me from the airline thread!! Im getting there but RL moving and stuff has pegged me back a bit. But wonder if anybody can point me to a tutorial or give me any help on a group title Im trying to get working, but cant. In my roles I have made a bussiness partner an officer. So in roles her name is (Officer) Air Tours manager is the (Title) In the abilities, iI have ticked all the items we believe she needs to be able to do within the club. In the members it says (officers 1) if I click on it up comes her name with her roles! But after i apply it, nothing happens her end, her tag, although shes been with my group for some time, still doesnt show airs tours manger, just her name, not even member or anything, I tried shortening her title to AT manager, but didnt work either! its getting frustrating, i ejected from group lol, and we went through it from the start, but still although shes showing as an officer with abilities, its not active. Have I missed something along the way, i have been following torrey Lindens (how to create a group tutorial) but it contains nothing about changing an active role, only mine, the owner...! Any guidelines would be useful Thanks mike

There might be more information in Knowledge Base, I seem to remember Groups as one of the categories.
I am wondering if there might be a glitch though? I hardly ever wear my group tags unless I'm at a group sponsored event. But, the last few times the tags worked like they should, which is why I think your partner has a glitch.
Maybe see if you can contact a mentor or ask in Live Help? And if nothing else go to one of the less crowded NCI Centers and ask one of the volunteers there.

She needs to activate her new role/tag.
Have her open the Group info, and in the bottom righthand corner she'll see the title dropdown. She clicks it, then selects from the titles available to her.

Something else to consider...

Have her check she's not set herself to not display group tags in her preferences/general tab just in case.

thanks for replies
we tried some of your ideas, but when she tries to activate a role it says it wont let her or greyed out!!
have to search some more, pity there not a vid tutorial for adding officers , assigning roles abilities, for newbies like me, new to group ownership.
It may be i havent done it the correct way, i dont any more, other than what i see in the group roles and titles, to help me!
any other ideas or perhaps some group owner who has assigned a role and title to a member before could give me a quick bit by bit tutorial lol
Thanks

ok i printed out a group knowledge answers on roles
When I pick sub tab Abilities:
and pick an ability:
Like edit terrain or eject people:
It shows my name and susans, but it still wont let her do anything.
Just one silly question!
IN MEMBERS TAG:
I have assigned roles like Officer and another person is senior Hostess,
But theres a blank square with nothing against it, the last one just an open little square, the top one has (everyone) the bottom one is just a blank square, whats it for, any body know??? Just out of curiousity i ticked it, and on the right hand side saying apply lit up, but what am i applying???
Thanks for any help as always

This has been solved not sure if this is something new, or just something I never encountered before
The problem was that they had an empty title in the everyone role
the solution is...
upon putting in a title, the other titles appeared and were available.
It seems the everyone role needs a title, maybe because it is the default role.
Not sure why...but that was the solution
edited to add, if you have a blank title for the everyone role it also disabled the ability to assign a role when inviting someone to your group

Again many thanks RH for going through our problem, for anybody new to groups, the following info may be of interest....
roles look if they are set to work, its all there but no tags or abilities can be accessed by the person assigned.
When u set up a group, you have people called (everyone) but for some reason (everyone) must have a title my (everybody had no title) You have to make everyone a member or vip member.....then you can assign roles and abilites, and then the person u have chosen, such as officer will be able to choose the role on her side, then he/her tag will now show active title....
Rhaorth join my club briefly and after she had found the problem we did a run and made her officer and viola her tag showed!
So many thanks Rhaorth for the hour u spent in world trying to find the root of the problem with me, glad to be your friend too.
kind regards
mike
