seeing prims

Whenever I right click on any item in SL, hit edit, no matter where I am, I can not view how many prims that object is.
I just rented an ap't. Very annoying since I want to know the total amount I have already. Or when I shop, I can not tell how many prims an item is to calculate what my allowance is in my apt.
All my friends can see the prims, so it is not a zone that doesn't allow viewing. Esp shopping. I am on the General Tab in editing. I believe it under the words "group" normally where this info shows up.
Any ideas? Do I have something turned off?

Thank you for your help,
Red

You need to X off "select only my objects"

This is up in one of your top menus. I'm no in world now and am not sure which one this is but it's up there for you to find!

Seeing object prims

I use it a lot to check prim levels before I buy anything

I'm not inworld so I can't see the menu's but if you go to your top line of menus, drop them down and there is an option in one that says "Edit other peoples objects", this should be ticked. IM me if you can't sort it out and I can talk you through it easier. I'll be inworld in about an hour

I'm inworld right now and just checked. 'Select only my objects' is in the Tools menu. As MoxZ says, make sure there isnt an 'x' against that option.

even if select only my objects is checked you can still select other's objects

just make sure the edit window is already open, or right click, select, then right click select again (just do not close the edit window before doing the second select)

thats usually what I do (right click/edit twice)
